Ged started his career in 1979 with NZI in Wellington but soon discovering that the life of the underwriter was not for him, he moved across to the broking side of the industry.
Ged has been broking insurance placements for his clients into the New Zealand domestic and overseas insurance markets ever since.

Ged moved to Auckland in 1998 to pursue his career and he joined Mahony in 2003 bringing a wealth of knowledge built from 25 years of corporate broking to some of New Zealand’s largest companies.

Ged has brokered the insurance placements for many of New Zealand’s largest companies and Government Departments. His experience extends to include expertise in the food, pharmaceutical, shipping, health and agricultural business sectors.

His experience includes:

• London and Lloyds market placements.
• Major claim negotiations
• Captive design and formation.
